A standing ovation

The rain didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of music lovers, as the 2021 Twilight Soirée got underway on Sunday 21st March. We were able to move indoors thanks to the Lions Club of East Gosford opening its community hall doors for us at very short notice. Rousing numbers from musical theatre, performed by the Central Coast Conservatorium Singers, delighted the audience who filled the hall under Covid Safe conditions. International operatic singers Dmitri & Katia Pronin, received a standing ovation when they enchanted us all with their performance of excerpts from La Traviata with backing from our local chorus. Alex Sefton, from Opera Australia, joined the company for La Traviata, then entranced the audience with his magnificent baritone in the Toreador Song from Carmen. We enjoyed a short address from Parliamentary Secretary to the Central Coast, Adam Crouch, who then presented Parliamentary Medals to two of our Volunteers, Clive and Helen Brill, for their long time contribution to the Community. Our Raffle draw created a stir and a precious moment when a most delightful lady won first prize which was a diamond pendant donated by Monty Adams Jewellery. Congratulations to Producer Tim Page and Musical Director Noah Peres for putting together such and outstanding show and our grateful thanks to the Lions Club of Gosford for the use of their community hall at such short notice.
